Adventure 2 basically improved these elements in every way.įirstly, they split the game into three more focused playstyles, that being high-speed platforming, shoot ‘em ups, and scavenger hunts. Sonic Adventure introduced the concept of high-speed platforming challenges, multiple playable characters with unique playstyles, and the ever popular Chao virtual pet. Needless to say, Sonic Adventure 2 has become a major hallmark for the franchise, with many believing that the series has not reached the heights of this seminal entry since. Naturally, this was followed by Sonic Adventure 2 that tightened up the original’s mechanics while introducing new characters that have shaped the franchise from here on out.
